A booked table deletes the barrier: the GM owns the dice (and the app, and the fluency), and the symbols teach themselves while you're busy being a smuggler with a past.

This is the scoundrel half of the galaxy: freighters, cantinas, Imperial entanglements, and the Obligation mechanic that turns everyone's backstory into scheduled plot. Every roll answers "did it work and what else happened," which is how the system produces hyperdrive-fails-at-the-worst-moment cinema on demand.
Booked tables come with the GM's public reviews, posted schedules, and seats priced upfront; the sci-fi one-shots at our Sandy outpost store are, we'll just say it, thematically unfair to every other venue in Utah.

Do I need the special Star Wars dice to play?
No; the table provides them or runs the official dice app. Buy a set later if the game sticks; one set per table is genuinely enough.

Edge is the scoundrel game; Force users live in the sibling system Force and Destiny, which shares the engine and sometimes shares tables. Ask the GM what their campaign allows; plenty run blended crews.
Is this beginner-friendly?
Yes, especially at a run table: the narrative dice take a few rolls to read and the GM translates until they click. The one prerequisite that matters is liking Star Wars.
How does the Obligation thing work?
Your character starts owing something (debt, bounty, secret), and the GM rolls each session to see whose past shows up. It's backstory with a pulse and the engine of the campaign's drama.
